I watched the first show of the Degrassi Reunion on Jonovision, but as the 
second was shown on Christmas Eve I missed it, there wasn't much on the 
first half, and after reading all the posts about it I so am jealous that I 
didn't get to see the rest of it!! What are the chances that Jonovision 
will air it again, I really think that Christmas Eve was a bad time to air 
it, a lot of people are too busy running around and doing lat minute things 
to remember or have the time to sit down and watch TV, I really wanted to 
see the second half, I'm so sorry I missed it, sounds like it was great!! 
And if anyone has any info on how to get the Degrassi Books please let me 
know, or if anyone has any that they would like to sell, trade, etc.. I 
went to amazon and ebay and the link for the books was there, but when I 
clicked on it it said that they were no longer available!! I really need 
some good reading material, someone help!!

I loved Dan Jackson's "uh-oh....leakage!" observation. It was hilarious!

My horriblest, guilty Degrassi confession involves my best friend Fee. Here in
Australia, ABC-TV ran a Degrassi competition a few years ago and Fee told me
she'd entered so I asked her about it. She said that you had to write in
and say
what the subjects were on the books at the beginning of Degrassi. I said,
"Tell
me what they are so I can enter too!"....and I won. So Fee, if you're reading
this, please know that I've been tormented with guilt ever since (and if I
could- as compensation- I'd get you a date with Joey Jeramiah).

One observation Fee and I always made was how much better the younger
actors on
Degrassi were compared to the adults. If you're looking for proof, two words:
Wheels' grandmother. No wonder the poor guy ran away from home!! That mundane
monotone would have *me* hitting the roads too! Not only that, I think Wheels'
grandfather was actually DEAD (and no one had noticed)!!

One last thing- Degrassi Digest is great (a good diversion from work which is
where I have it sent) and it's fun to hear what everyone's upto, but I do feel
bad for Neil Hope, etc. who are now trying to live down their Degrassi days.
Like Eve Plumb (who played Jan in the Brady Bunch) once said: "Imagine if you
did something when you were ten years old and everyone wanted to talk about it
for the rest of your life." It'd be so fantastic to be involved in something
like Degrassi when you were young, but as an adult, struggling with the
horrors
of daily life, maybe not so great??

Anyway, having said that, keep the gossip coming!

Hey,
Some of you have mentioned where to get Degrassi T-shirts. I just had some 
made. I bought some hip-looking plain tees- a plain khacki and a plain grey 
t shirt and went to a shop that does printing on clothes. The first shirt, 
the grey one, says "Degrassi High" in green and whitevarsity letters across 
the back. The second one says across the front in small letters "Everybody 
wants something" and the back of it says "The Zit Remedy" in black lettering 
with the "The" on a slant just like the show.
You wouldn't believe how many people ask me where I got them!

make them, as Lisa did...They are easy...just print out a photo, or steal
one from any of our websites.....There are so many stolen anyway, and print
it on special paper found at an office supply store, special paper that

well, i'm new to the list, so i thought i would share with you (for those
who are interested) my Degrassi "Kid" Sightings throughout the years!
here we go...

at lollapalooza '92 in toronto, i saw amanda ("spike") in the crowd--this
was only a year or so after degrassi had finished, so her hair was still
somewhat spike-ish :), and i remember she was wearing a crop-top, exposing
her pierced belly button--she had hers done waaaay before all this
piercing business became FASHIONABLE :) no, i didn't approach her--i was
sitting under a tree, feeling nautious (sun stroke), and barely moved from
that spot til evening. yeah, i had a BLAST :(

then, also in '92, i did some volunteer work at CJRT (York U. radio
station) while still in high school, and lo and behold, i walked in to the
studio one day and "arthur" was there! to this day, i'm not sure what he
was doing there--volunteering, too?!!--but i remember being all
starry-eyed, as usual, and wanting to really talk to him but feeling like a
big loser...so i didn't. i was introduced to him, and i remember just
smiling and shaking his hand--but what kid my age WOULDN'T know who he
was?! i'm sure he knew i was thinking "wowwwww!" 
*** i have to say, he was reeeeeeeeeally tall, wearing camoflage-design
clothing, and a long black trench coat with huge combat boots. doesn't
sound like "arthur", does it?!

my most recent sighting was this past summer--"liz" at Eatons department
store. I NEARLY FELL OVER! she was always a favourite of mine...she's
still so incredibly cute, and so tiny! again--felt like a big loser,
didn't say a word. kicking myself, HARD, for it now. saw her on the
jonovision reunion and she was so damn sweet. *sigh*

another interesting tidbit--my pal used to live near "the twins", and said
she saw them pretty regularly, ALWAYS wearing those black and white
outfits, in polka dots or stripes! EISH! i was hoping those clothes were
just for their characters on the show. i know someone on the list
mentioned that she thought their clothes were cool, but i was kinda
horrified by them...

and finally (i'm so sorry to ramble on), here's my most humiliating
story...(to me, at least):
in 1988, when i was 13 (and in the height of degrassi mania), i went to the
movie theatres at a local mall to catch the premiere of U2's film RATTLE
AND HUM ( i was a big, big, big U2 fan--this was before they went all WIERD
on me... ). my friend and i went to the very first show, at 7 pm, cos we
couldn't wait one more minute to see this movie!
well, we went to school the next day to discover that our man pat--"joey
jeremiah" himself--was at the very same theatre the night before, seeing
the very same film...only it was the 9 pm show he went to see. an
"acqaintance" of mine (actually a girl i loathed, and who loathed me back)
told my friend and i that she saw him there, and "knowing what a big fan"
my friend was, got his autograph for her.
now, this sucked ass big time because it was ME who was the huge joey
jeremiah fan, and this girl knew that, so of course to piss me off she made
a big deal of getting his signature for my friend, who liked pat but not
the way that i did. totally, utterly humiliating and maddening!
*by the way--the "acquainance" of mine didn't have a pen, so pat signed the
autograph with her black eyeliner pencil. i can still see that signature in
my head to this day...

thanks for reading my rambles, degrassi fans--hope you got a kick out of
them :)

De Grassi street is at the East end of Toronto, go downtown to Queen Street
and Yonge, and go East on the Street car. Get off at De Grassi street.
Degrassi Junior High was filmed at Vincent Massey School, 68 Daisy Street
in Etobicoke. Take the subway West to the second to last stop,
(Kipling)...Take the bus all the way down to the lakeshore and walk
west....it might be essential to get a map because Vincent Massey school is
embedded in the streets.
Degrassi High was filmed at Centennial College...take the subway from
Yonge/Bloor east to Pape...Get off and walk north until Mortimer. Turn
left (West) on Mortimer one block. This street is called Carlaw. The
school is at the corner of Carlaw and Mortimer. 
Some other locations include Pape Recreation Centre where the swimming pool
scenes are, Earl Grey School where the cafeteria scenes are, Riverdale Park
where Rick walks Kathleen in "Bottled Up".

hi. i wrote a letter to cbc concerning the rumour that degrassi is being 
taken off the air and i encourage everyone else to do the same. if the 
rumour is true then it will be good to let the station know that they are 
making a dumb decision and if it is not true, then it will show them how 
greatly people feel about the series. here is my letter to help you with 
yours:
I'm 18 years old and from newfoundland and i'm writing in regards to the 
degrassi series. ever since it started comming back on in september, kids 
across canada have been flocking to their tv sets a little bit earlier each 
day to watch cbc. it's phemonal of how many people watch that show, i know 
EVERYONE young and old do here in newfoundland. plus there is this web fan 
club that started up because of the reruns showed on your station with 
thousands of kids getting together to discuss degrassi issues, i being one 
of them. in our fan club, we have received a comment that degrassi would be 
cancelled soon and being replaced with 'Road To Avonlea'! i was wondering if 
this was so, and if this is it is a crazy idea since there would be soo many 
viewers let down. I hear very often how cbc is such a great station to 
decide to rerun the episodes and then we watch more of cbc because we have 
respect for the station since they have made such a wise idea to run 
degrassi. i know you people get lots of letters so i will cut this one short 
since i still could go on forever praising degrassi.degrassi talks about 
issues that kids need to hear, issues not discussed in school, issues like 
child abuse, hiv, suicide, and is presented in an entertaining way so us 
kids will find interesting and in turn learn the morals. therefore i feel 
that degrassi should stay on the air if the rumour is true, and if it is not 
i applaud your decision to continue to rerun this imformative teen show.

Hi, um this is my first post, but I was wondering if
you can answer a few questions for me. CBC just
started running the Degrassi episodes from the
beginnig again, and I think I picked up on something
that I never noticed before. 

Is it just me, or in the Junior High episodes when
Melanie is in grade 7, Wheel's and the twins along
with some other kids are in the same class. But in
Degrassi High they are a year older? Or am I just
seeing things?

Also, on the episode in Degrassi High when Michelle
moved out to her own apartment, she say's that she
would have to sell somthing very valuable, but it is
different in the next episode when it is shows the
same thing, but as a recap of the show. (because it
was to be continued).

Erica and Heather have a party in another episode,
Heather tries to get Wheels to like her. They end up
kissing outside on the couch. My question is a little
while later, after Wheels gets thrown out of Joey's
house, he goes to Snakes and sleeps outside at his
house. Does the twins and Snake have the same house?

I know theese questions are a little weird but I was
just curious, somtimes I just need to know answers to
stupid questions (it sort of bugs me thats all).

My film professor at Queen's University, in Kingston, ON, Canada, directed
three episodes of Degrassi Junior High. His name is Clake Mackey, one of
the episodes was the one where Joey sells vitamins to Kathleen and Melanie,
and Mr. Raditch is mean to Yick. It's called The Experiment. I don't know
the other three. If anyone else knows I would be interested to find out.

*Mark* The fire was fake.....it didn't really happen, it was trick
photography by Phil Earnshaw...
On the episode, the furnace was not working and it caught fire and exploded
with the gas tanks. Tessa and Scooter found out but no one believed
them...Remember when Tessa was just a little kid back then....

you're still wondering: I remember seeing this scene, both on the CBC

feed and on PBS. I believe that Snake said on the PBS version, "...playing

suck). I'm rushing to get my Spike page (and indeed my whole site) in order 
before I get too busy with school... The only ones I have found are either

Right after I watched Jonovision I contacted them 
and asked if they knew of anything about Degrassi 
because I just love the show. I've always watched 
it every day of my life, I even have a picture of 
me watching it when I was a baby. =) I watch it 
every day, 2 shows. I regretted not being on 
Jonovision that time Degrassi was on there. I'll

I don't know if anyone knows this but the character Lucy from Degrassi 
had a small role in the TV show Goosebumps a few years ago. She played a 
teacher of an elementry class in the episode The Werewolf of Fever Swamp. 
Not that any of you care or anything but if you didn't know you know now.
The best Characters were Stephanie Kaye and Caitlin!
And for the person who had that degarssi surevy the question for, who 
was the biggest geek? THEY WERE ALL GEEKS, but its a cool show.

I don't know if anyone's been keeping up with
television lately, but there's a great show on NBC now
called "Freaks and Geeks." It follows a brother and
sister and their friends as they survive high school
in 1980. It had been airing on Saturdays and didn't
do very well, but now they've moved it to Monday at 8
p.m., and I highly recommend everyone check it out. 
It's one of those shows you'll want to keep on the
air. Now, I might be a little prejudiced because I'm
from Long Island and love Billy Joel, but the music in
the show is phenomenal, too (someone got a hold of
"Glass Houses" and decided to put some of the obscure
songs in the show the other night). The storylines
are just incredible, and it's really funny.

Anyway ... I noticed on Amazon.com that they will be
selling degrassi videos for around $200 or so. I'm
assuming that this is a huge boxed set featuring most
of the episodes that are already out. I'm definitely
looking forward to that.

Oh, and anyone tape that run of "X-Rated" on Showcase
the other night? Being in the States, I didn't get to
see it and I've wanted to. Also, if anyone has any
info on the Stacy Mistysyn movie "Jersey Guy,"
(whether or not it's out, if it's available) I'd love
it.

*Mark* Well, if you want to label some problems, he was spoiled, he failed
Grade 8, he was a jerk to Liz, Caitlin and Snake in Season 2 and 3 and in
School's Out. He had also had dysgraphia, which is a learning disability
he was diagnosed with at the end of the 4th season.

Hello,

I just was wondering if anyone else couldn't take their eyes off of Stefen 
Brogren, AKA Snake on Jonovision? He grew up to be a hottie. I thought that 
was weird since way back in the day, I was in love with Joey. But I thought 
he looked a little funny bald. Also what was up with Nicole Stoffman 
(Stephanie)? She seemed a little out of it...but all in all it was a great 
show to watch and a surprise with the Kevin Smith letter.

~Oh I have a question for all of you die hards- In the first or second 
season of DJH, Wheels was complaining to Joey that they only had two songs, 
so how would they get famous? But I know they had "Everybody Wants 
Something" but where was this other song?
