NEWS: Degrassi 2005: a journey of a century Some of you may recall a site named The Degrassi Fan Club, a site that was created by two young men from Israel, Oren Shay and Guy Meiroz. The site was first launched to the world in August 1996. Since then the site has was changed three times. The old concept of the site has changed somewhat. Get ready for the New Generation of Degrassi. Oren and Guy are back and they have a new partner, Princess Paige, from Canada. Paige was actually the one who gave the inspiration for the site's new format. The Degrassi Fan Club has turned to Degrassi 2005: a Journey Of a Century. You may ask, what is left from the old site?
The articles section is there, and it will grow larger, The files section is still there so you can still download your favourite sounds, and desktop theme files. The main section of the site takes place in the year 2005. The new class, is a continuation of the original show. It tells the story of the next class of Degrassi, with Emma, Spike's daughter.
Every two weeks or so a new episode will be out with your help ofcourse, so if you have any suggestions for new characters, plots and anything else send it to: degrassi_@hotmail.com.
The new site will be up in a week from now (May 9-11th). You can go and check it out, post your ideas, and help us develop it. I would like to thank you all for reading this and for maybe e-mailing us with your ideas. I would also like to thank Mark for his cooperation, and for posting this press release.

DEGRASSI WORLD #2: Emma Nelson (Spike's Daughter) Attends Degrassi Junior High Years ago Degrassi Junior High burned down due to a furnace explosion. However it was completely renovated thanks to a government grant. Mr. Raditch and Mr. Garcia are now professors at Degrassi University. Ms. Avery is now the Principal at Degrassi Junior High (she returned after a five year teaching contract in Vancouver) as Mr. Lawrence retired after the school burned down.
Emma is now attending DJH. Her mother Christine (only friends refer to her as Spike) had Emma the summer before going into Grade 9. They are often mistaken for sisters. At age 26, Christine still looks and acts young. Although, her platinum-blonde spikes have been replaced by golden, rasta-style braids.
Unlike many teenage mothers, Christine beat the odds and gained success--she is educated, happily married, and professionally accomplished. It wasn't easy though, for years they had to beg and borrow to scrape by. Christine Nelson and her best friend Elizabeth O'Rourke (formally known as Liz) are co-owners of a used book/record/clothing boutique named "Reincarnated Rubbish".
Emma inherited her mother's sassy, dynamic personality. She listens to Gothic music and reads books by Sylvia Plath, Edgar Allen Poe, and Anne Rice. She has a fascination with witches and the occult. Emma's hair is a shocking violet colour. Today she is wearing a velvet baby doll dress, black fishnet stacking, and a silver nose ring. She's been begging for a tattoo but Christine won't let her (although she has one herself: a tiny cross to symbolize her faith in Jesus).
Emma, like Christine, is considered eccentric and weird at Degrassi. All the other kids wear preppy clothes and obsess about teeny bopper stuff. Namely dating . . . popularity . . . Hanson. Whereas Emma is desperately trying to form a political activist group. Meanwhile a gorgeous Russian boy named Sasha is desperately pursuing her. However, Sasha's efforts are fruitless because she's afraid of getting pregnant.
Emma visits Shane, her biological father, once a month. Shane is developmentally disabled, as a teenager he consumed acid and jumped off a bridge. Intelligently, he functions at a Grade 5 level. Shane is with a special program that arranges his housing, transportation, job training, etc.. Next month he will start his new job as a restaurant bus boy. Emma has grown to appreciate persons with disabilities and aspires to be a social worker or physical therapist.
