Does anybody else think that Degrassi ruined the lives of the actors? I
watch the show religiously, and when I was in Toronto ( I'm a NEWF) I saw
the girl who played Kathleen working at Wayne Gretzky's restaurant. I
confronted her and told her I saw her on Degrassi, she retorted with "That
was a long time ago", and she stormed off. Seems to me that being a
Degrassi did not have a positive affect on her life, since, I guess, she
in no longer acting? OR IS SHE???????

*Mark* I do not know about you, but when you confront a person, it is
normal for them to react in a negative way. I would feel threatened and
intimidated if someone came up to me at my place of work, and confronted
me if I was on a television series many years ago. Maybe it was the way
you approached her. The word confront has more negative connotations than
positive, and so it would be only natural for someone to react in a
startled manner. Since Rebecca is part of this mailing list, she can
respond to your question. Thank you for sharing your experience.

As for your question about the Degrassi actors acting, I have seen Bill
Parrot,who played Shane, in an EATON commercial, just a couple of weeks ago
I think Dayo Ade (BLT) was seen in The Kids in The Hall (before it
went off the air) Stefan Brogren (Snake) was seen in a CBC special, Pat
Mastroianni (Joey) hosted a show on CBC about music. He also played on
Liberty Street. Stacie Mistysyn played in a couple of CBC made-for-TV
movies in the early 1990's. Other Degrassi actors have gone
onto the technical side (behind the camera). Byrd Dickens (Scott) and
Michael Carry (Simon) are some people who work behind the scenes of many
CBC Television productions now.

difficult and expensive to get all the fans together in a single room.
Would that be all Degrassi Fans or only Degrassi Fans in Montreal? As
well there are many Degrassi Fans that are around the world that probably
want to be involved but due to the fact that they do not live in Montreal
will not allow them to join us. This would not be fair. As well it
would not be fair for Degrassi fans who are not aware of the Degrassi
Fanclub and Mailing List which brings together many Degrassi Fans.
I would love for this to happen, but I do not think it is practical.

I am a big degrassi fan. I haven't seen the show in a while though. Do you
know if they are still playing the rerun's. In the Detriot/ Windsor Area.
It used to be on I think cbc 9 over here a few years back. That would be
cool. If it was no big deal it would be also great to know if there was
anyway i could rent the degrassi high Movie School's out.. What's this
about a store that spike own's in toronto??

*Mark* Yes, there are re-runs. Not on CBC, but on Showcase, the Canadian
Cable network, which carries many interesting shows, which are not seen on
the major North American networks (FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, CBC, CTV, Global)
if you are interested in renting "School's Out", it will still cost you an
arm and a leg. In my opinion, it is better to buy it. Call Direct Cinema

About Amanda Stepto's and Cathy Keenan's store: I believe that Amanda
Stepto (Spike) and Cathy Keenan (Liz) did have a own a store called Shakti
in Kensington Market, in Toronto. It closed and moved to Guelph, Ontario,
but I am not sure if they are still the owners of the new store.

Alright, this one has been bugging me for years....do you have any idea
whose ass that is in the opening credits of the degrassi high programme?

*Mark* That is not an obscure question. Based on the hairstyle and body
shape of the anonymous character facing their locker, it was clearly a
woman's behind.I am willing to bet it was Jacy Hunter's (she played Amy)
who you are looking at at the beginning of Degrassi High. Did you know the
label of the jeans said PWT, which are the initials of Playing With Time?
